What is myofascial release, exactly? Myofascial release is a manipulative treatment, that attempts to release tension in the fascia, due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Connective tissues, called fascia, surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Self-myofascial release is often called, “the poor man’s massage”.

SMR has a wide range of benefit for the gym-goer: a) Increased blood flow throughout the body, b) better movement and range of motion, c) decrease chances of injury and d) decrease recovery time after a workout.
